SuperSmash Hub (for Years 1-3)

SuperSmash Cricket Years 1-3 is now run through PlayHQ Cricket Association.

SuperSmash Cricket is an entry level, coached programme and is best suited to children 5-8 years old. It is designed to help participants learn the basics of cricket.
This 6-week programme runs from mid-October from 3.45pm-4.45pm at Smallbone Park on Thursdays.

When: Thursday (3:45pm - 4:45pm) 6 Sessions
Where: Smallbone Park, 1
Cost is $30 for the 6-week programme.
Mixed genders and all gear provided.

Incrediball Cricket (Years 3-5 approx.) – Thursday afternoons

Incrediball is a modified game of cricket using a soft ball and plastic gear. It is suited for children who understand the basics of cricket or have reasonably developed hand-eye coordination.

Teams: 6 kids per team (so the kids get more ball time than previous years), all games are mixed gender.
Games: are played on Thursday afternoons, at Smallbone Park, Devon Street. These run from 3.45pm until 5.00pm (approx.), dates to be confirmed.
Fees: TBC but last term was $10 per player.
Coaches: Rotorua Cricket will supply coaches for Incrediball teams (I know, cool right!). 1-2 parents per team are also required to support with organisation and mustering kids. Plus, it’s a great game to watch, so come along and enjoy. For those parents keen on cricket, we encourage you to give coaching a go. Our coaches will act as mentors, supporting you to develop coaching skills for future years.
Gear: all equipment is provided.

Hardball Cricket (for years 4-6)Thursdays afterschool

Hardball cricket is played using wooden bats and protective gear (helmets, gloves, batting pads etc), as well as a hard cricket ball. It is suited for children who have already played Incrediball Cricket or who have well-developed hand-eye coordination.

Teams: are made up of 8 kids per team, all games are mixed genders.
Games: will be played on Thursday afternoons dates to be confirmed.
Matches are held in Rotorua starting at 3.45pm at various grounds around Rotorua (Boord Park, Neil Hunt, Puarenga etc).
You may play one game in Tokoroa, depending on the draw.
Fees: The cost for hardball cricket is $35 per player for Term 1
Coaches: Teams are required to have a coach and a parent who can score / umpire. We have a coaching development programme for parents or volunteers who haven’t coached before, so give it a go. We may be able to support teams who struggle to find a coach, please enquire.
Wear PE uniform
Registrations: Close 7th of February

All previous sports/event fees must be paid or arrangements made before your child can participate in sports for Term 4. Uniform
For all year levels is the School PE top & shorts. Hardball can choose to wear cricket whites (pants only). Our School Uniform shop is open Monday & Friday 8.30-9.00am and Wednesday 2.30-3.00pm or click HERE to view/order uniform online.
