Term 1 finished with our Interclass challenge.(Won by room 3) Teams from Rooms 1 to 5 , 12 and 14 competed for the right to hold the trophy till the next challenge.
Term 2 is when chess gets more serious with a number of opportunities to play in tournaments. Numbers we enter vary for each tournament, but will give as many children as
possible a go. Selection criteria will be based on skill level as well as commitment to practising. We hold a chess club on Wednesday lunchtimes in the hall. Will also try and run other training sessions for small groups of children.
Also please encourage the children to practise online. (Chesskid.com is a great website that
offers free lessons and is safe for children)

Also I am still doing scrap metal recycling , so let me know if you have any.
Don’t forget to collect all your aluminium cans and drop them to me at school.
