Tough Guy & Gal Challenge 2024

This is an 'extreme running event' - a chance for kids to get involved in New Zealand’s
biggest mud run series in a version tailored especially for them. There will be lots of mud, obstacles, mud, water crossings and more mud!

When: Tuesday 19th August 8.30am - 12.30pm
Where: Lakes Ranch, 79 Rotokawau Rd, Rotorua
Who: Years 3 - 6 children only
How: Own transport / carpool if possible (note: we can not guarantee transport for your child)
Cost: $30

Registrations and payment due by: 3.15pm Thursday 31st July 2025.

Your child will need the following:
• Lunch, large drink bottle, snacks
• Spare set of clothes, a towel and warm clothes for after their run.
• Any medication your child may need (eg inhaler).
• Shoes (Compulsory) TIP: it pays to tape them up on race day so they stay on.

Event Timetable for the day:
8.30am - 9.30am: Registration at venue
10.00am: Start of the 3km event (School Years 7 & 8)
10.00am: Start of the 3km event (School Years 5 & 6)
10.00am: Start of the 1.5km event (School Years 3 & 4)
12.00pm: Prize-giving

Finishers Medals
Every competitor will receive one the stunning Junior Tough Guy and Gal Challenge finishers medals.

Payment can be made at the School Office or via Online Banking ANZ 06 0209 0229658 00
If paying online, please use your child's name as code and 'ToughGuy' as a reference.

IMPORTANT NOTE! There are NO DOGS allowed at any of our events. Our event venues are on private land that have wildlife and/or domestic animals. Please leave them at home!

Course Options
Ankle Biters 1.5km Course Option – For school years 3 – 4
Little Nippers 3km Course Option – For school years 5 – 6
Big Rascals 3km Course Option – For school years 7 – 8

Finishers Medals
Every competitor that enters into any of the Junior Tough Guy and Gal events will receive a stunning finishers medal!

Merit Prizes
No merit prizes will be awarded at these events.

Spot Prizes
Awesome spot prizes will be randomly drawn at prize-giving. You must be present at prize-giving to collect your spot prize.

Brightest School Award
We will be awarding a certificate and minor spot prize to the ‘Brightest School’ during prize-giving at the end of each event day. Dress up in your brightest or most creative dress ups for the Junior Tough Guy and Gal Challenge with your school group and you could win!

What to wear
It is compulsory to wear covered in shoes during the event. You will get wet and muddy. A dry set of clothing, beanie and jacket is highly recommended following your event. Football or Rugby boots with moulded studs are acceptable, running spikes or boots with aluminium studs are not permitted.

Every Competitor Receives
Each competitor will receive a stunning finishers medal, FREE Hell Pizza (voucher valued at $9.50), a downloadable certificate and a chance to win spot prizes.

Personalised Bib Numbers
If you enter at least three weeks before your event you will receive your very own personalised bib number.

Shower and Parking
Hot showers, parking and first aid support are included in your entry fee.

Food and Drinks
Hot food and beverages will be available from the venue for purchase – please bring cash as most places will not have reliable eftpos facilities.
