The Lenten Season
Classes have begun their study on Lent in Schools using the Caritas Unit. The 2020 Lent Theme, “Renewed by the Spirit” – is taken from
“Gaudete et Exultate – Rejoice and Exult” by Pope Francis. This theme reminds us of the call to encounter God and allow him to guide us, giving us the strength to live out our journey of faith and invite others to join us on our way.

Next week March 11th, we will have our Rice Day. Students are encouraged to eat rice for lunch, this will be provided. This helps children understand that rice is the main food source, sometimes only food for many people in our world. Money raised will go to Caritas to help them in their work around the world.

Many of our students made their First Reconciliation on Sunday. Lent is a perfect time to go to confession. Well done kids, and we continue to pray for you all as you continue on your faith journey.

Isabel came 1st in her Double Mini Tramp comp in Gisborne, and qualified for Nationals. What a fantastic result, great work Isabel.
