Newsletter No 32, 24 October 2018

Kia ora,

Well, last week passed very quickly. The days seem to go much faster when the weather is good.

I would like to welcome Gail Marten to our staff. Gail is working in the mornings as a teacher aide. Gail has been coming into our school as a volunteer for a couple of years and prior to that she had spent many years as part of the admin team at Westbrook School. Welcome Gail.

In term 4 children are expected to wear their sun hats, so if children aren’t wearing a hat they will be sent to the school verandas. From next week sunblock will be available for children to use in the playground. However, when our days heat up, please put sunblock on your children before they arrive at school.

The auditions for our school production Noah and the Ark are to be completed today. We have been very impressed with the talent we have at our school and are looking forward to staging the show at the end of the year. The style is a little different from previous years. All classes will have an act of singing or dancing or both to perform and our main actors will be performing through all the acts. I am really looking forward to the show. Bernie Hall is our Director and she is getting help from staff and parents. If you would like to help with making props, building an Ark, making costumes etc. please email Bernie at bernieh@stmarysrotorua.school.nz
