Newsletter No 15,24 May 2017

Kia Ora,

Hello Everyone,

Last Friday our Middle and Senior School walked down to JPC’s “Into the Woods” production. Our children were certainly entertained and it was great to see so many of our former students on stage performing. Thanks to the parents who accompanied the classes to the show.

We had a number of new students start this week in our newly opened New Entrant Class in Room 10. It is great to have Eliana Maxwell back teaching in this class. Welcome back Eliana and welcome to Lydia Hardman, Lennox Portland, Maliana Kelemete, Nico Ryan, Chloe Nacar, Eryn Espinosa, and Adam Masters. Jono Dalton, a new entrant, also started this week in Room 18. Maggie will be able to keep a "grandmotherly eye" on Jono from the front office. Welcome to you all.

This Friday we have a very busy day. At 9.00am is the Pentecost Mass at St Mary’s Church and we would love you to join us for this. In the afternoon our middle and senior school are competing in our annual cross country. Again, please come and support your children. Fingers crossed the weather will be kind to us. It might be useful to check class blogs.
Please note: THERE WILL BE NO SAUSAGE SIZZLE THIS FRIDAY.

We have a number of our children making their First Holy Communion and Confirmation at the 5.00pm Mass on June 11th. Please pray for these children and their families as they make this most important step in their journey of faith.

Enrolment for the next Sacramental Programme will commence some time in Term 4.

We are holding an information evening on ‘What it means to attend a Catholic School’on Wednesday 31 May (next Wednesday). This is for anyone to attend who would like to know more about the unique aspects we cover and the promotion of Catholic values as a Catholic School. We will look into the RE content taught, expectations and community spirit as well.

And finally, a reminder that you cannot park in the bowl of Carnot St. There are yellow lines on the road and they are there to ensure that traffic flows reasonably freely in the street. Again, please do not park in this area. Other options are: parking on Ranolf St and in the Church carpark. Safety of our children is paramount.

Have a great week.

David Macmillan,
Principal.

This Friday we have our Pentecost Mass at 9:00 in the church - everyone welcome. Pentecost is the coming of the Holy Spirit to Earth to help guide and lead us to truth.
