PROGRAMME FOR CONCERT:

I would like to thank our DRS, Bernie Hall and the RE team for organising this event.

Unfortunately our Athletics Sports had to be cancelled last week. We are all set to go tomorrow, but still need help. If you are able to help, please just turn up on the day and see Lorna Dobson or Leon Volschenk. Children need to bring hat, lunch, sunscreen and water. The athletic sports are for Years 3-6 students from 8:45am to 2:30pm. You are very welcome to attend this event. It is on at the Rotorua Athletic Track which is next to the Rugby Stadium.

Colleen Pinfold and our Reading Tutors had morning tea with children they have been tutoring, last week. I just need to acknowledge the awesome progress the children have made. Thanks to Colleen and her helpers for their work with our children.

Well, our community keeps giving. Thanks to David Ronayne who has spent the last few days finishing off the boundary fence. Mike Woolford came in yesterday and completed a few plumbing jobs for us. We now have a tap for the school vegetable gardens and Mike also fixed a few of our downpipes. Thank you to you both.

I had someone offer to store our library books while the building programme takes place in the school. Thank you to Anne-Marie Jessen.

Thanks also to our PTA Hospitality group who support families with meals when the need arises. Your support is much appreciated.

In the first weekend in December we intend entering a float into the Christmas Parade. We will have a nativity focus with a Donkey in our parade. All our children are invited to be part of our float. We would appreciate any outfits that children could wear on the float. The outfits could be anything that would resemble shepherds, wise men, angels, Mary, Joseph etc. We also have some material, so if anyone could help us by sewing basic outfits, that would be fantastic. If you can help please email me davidm@stmarysrotorua.school.nz or leave a message with Maggie in the office. And if you have any costumes you would like to donate, please drop them off at the office.

Christmas is around the corner and we are participating in the Christmas parade this year. If you have any angel or Jesus items/clothing we can use-please send to the office. Mrs Hall (Room 17) will also be collecting items. Our Young Vinnies are doing a Christmas Food Appeal. Cans of food can be sent to school from now on and House points will be given. From there our Young Vinnies and Mrs Todd will collect them. Thank you in advance.

AHUREI PERFORMANCE:
Due to the sudden closure of the Howard Morrison Centre on Friday, ticketing and venue options are currently being reconsidered. Mrs Dunkley will attend a meeting this Thursday to discuss these matters. Please note Ahurei children will not receive their notices until NEW arrangements have been finalised. There could well be a very tight time frame on ticket purchases so please be aware of this.

An information evening for Year 2 Parents:
When: Thursday 16 November
Time: 5.15 - 6pm.
Where: Rooms 14/15
This meeting is targeted at Year 2 parents who will have students in Year 3 next year. The purpose of the meeting is to provide information about the use of google apps accounts and chrome books in Years 3 - 6 classes. Flyers outlining the latest Chromebook deals offered to our parents through Harvey Norman, Office Max, Noel Leeming, PB Technology and Cyclone Computers will be available.
